Investing in Kentucky
2024 has been a transformative year for Comcast, as we continue strengthening communities through cutting-edge fiber technology. This year, our expanded network brought fast, reliable Internet to more homes and businesses in Kentucky than ever before, helping to connect people and power economic growth.
Connecting Communities with Purpose
Working closely with local governments and employing more than 100 area workers and local contractors, we’ve been providing service for more than four decades in parts of central and Western Kentucky, including Campbellsville, Elizabethtown, Central City, Greenville, Fort Campbell and Paducah. From enabling seamless online learning and telehealth services to supporting small businesses and remote work, our efforts fuel economic growth and digital inclusion.
In 2024, Comcast partnered with Livingston County to bring high-speed Internet to families and businesses in the small rural community of Ledbetter, Kentucky, for the first time. With matching funds from the county and Comcast’s own network investment, residents can now bundle broadband, video, digital and mobile voice, and home security.
Innovating for Extraordinary Experiences
From launching the NOW services, which offer affordable pre-paid, no-contract service lines, to introducing WiFi Boost for our mobile customers, we prioritized accessible, customizable services. Milestones like the Olympic Games Paris 2024 brought moments of unity and joy, showcasing our commitment to creating engaging customer experiences.
- Xfinity Mobile and Comcast Business Mobile continue to offer some of the lowest prices with the broadest coverage around the state.
- We launched Xfinity StreamSaver, a streaming bundle of Peacock, Netflix, and Apple TV+ that delivers savings of over 30% a year.
Empowering Local Businesses
From home entrepreneurs to enterprise-wide support, Comcast Business offers a suite of connectivity solutions to help organizations of all sizes achieve their goals. With cutting-edge cybersecurity, 99.9% network reliability, and initiatives extending beyond connectivity, Comcast Business supports businesses in communities across northwest Kentucky.
“From advanced WiFi to protection from cyber threats, Comcast Business services provide flexible and reliable advanced connectivity solutions to ensure that Kentucky businesses are productive and protected,” said Sonya Callahan, Vice President of Comcast Business, Heartland Region. “Our goal is to empower businesses to think more about what’s next, and less about managing vendors and high costs for connectivity. With Comcast Business and Comcast Business Mobile, reliable connectivity goes wherever business takes them.”
Bridging the Digital Divide
Investing in Kentuckians is more than network advancement; it is about moving the needle on digital inclusion through Project UP, our $1 billion commitment to advance digital equity.
- Operated two Lift Zones in northwest Kentucky, offering free, secure WiFi hotspots at nearby community centers. To find a Lift Zone near you, click here.
- Supported Hope Academy in Elizabethtown with $10,000 in grant funding to support programming for digital skills training.
“We’re proud to be a partner in Kentucky’s digital equity journey and to continue our work with community partners to provide resources and technology in a way that benefits everyone,” said Jambor.
Also giving back to our communities, Team UP, the company’s always-on volunteer program, includes employees from across the region sharing experiences and serving non-profits and community organizations. In 2024, Team UP volunteers in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, assembled no-sew fleece blankets for Hope Academy for Kids, and held a food drive benefiting Warm Blessings Community Kitchen. Comcast team members from around the Heartland Region also hosted a toy and food drive benefiting The Service Society, distributing donations and a monetary grant to benefit residents of Paducah and greater McCracken County.
Looking Ahead
We’re hard at work preparing to bring customers even more of what they love in 2025.
