Comcast is launching a new internet service in Kentucky on Wednesday, June 26. This new service will deliver speeds up to 1 gigabit-per-second (Gbps) to residential customers across Comcast’s central Kentucky coverage area including Campbellsville, Cave City, Elizabethtown, Hodgenville, Horse Cave, Leitchfield and Vine Grove.
Here are some perks of having a 1 gigabit connection:
- 5-gigabyte HD movies download in 40 seconds;
- A 600-megabyte TV episode downloads in four seconds;
- Music albums that are 150-megabytes download in two seconds;
- A 15-gigabyte video game can download in two minutes.
These ultra-fast speeds will be delivered using DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem technology, which uses the communication lines that most Xfinity customers already have in their homes.
The gigabit service will be among the fastest and most widely available in central Kentucky and will include access to the nation’s largest Wi-Fi network of more than 19 million hotspots.
Residential customers can enjoy 1 gigabit service for as low as $90 per month with a 12-month contract. Bundled product discounts are also available.
